CAFS Vision
People will live in families and communities that are safe, connected, valued and supported. We aspire to community leadership using dynamic and progressive responses to current issues. We aim to inspire service users and staff as an inclusive, supportive and responsive organization.
Service Charter
Child & Family Services (CAFS) is a community-based, not-for-profit incorporated association operating in the Ballarat, Hepburn, Moorabool, Ararat, Golden Plains, and Pyrenees local government areas of Victoria. CAFS’ heritage dates back to 1865 through Ballarat Orphanage and Ballarat Children’s Homes.
CAFS delivers a range of programs and services to support children, young people, families and individuals. These include out of home care for children and young people; family services; family violence services; services for homeless people; programs for men; financial counselling; problem gambling services and community development programs.
We are supported by funding from multiple sources, including philanthropic grants, and the Commonwealth and State governments. CAFS is governed by a Board drawn from the communities we serve. A large number of volunteers assist professional staff to achieve our goals.
