Ballarat Children's Contact Service
The Ballarat Children' s Contact Service (BCCS) provides supervision for contact visits and facilitates changeovers for children whose parents have separated and who find it difficult to manage these arrangements safely.
There are many reasons why contact visits and changeovers between a resident parent and a non-resident parent may be too difficult for parents to manage by themselves for a period of time.
The Family Court may order that parents apply to use the Contact Services or parties may make the application themselves.
BCCS works with parents individually to make arrangements that will ensure the safety and wellbeing of each child. Supervised visits and changeovers occur Friday nights, Saturdays and Sundays in well equipped, child friendly premises in central Ballarat.
In the near future, it is intended to extend a limited changeover service to Ararat.
