CAFS Ararat offers the following services in the local government areas of Ararat Rural City and Pyrenees Shire
Financial Counselling (1 day a week)
Assisting individuals, couples and families on low incomes, affected by gambling related issues or experiencing financial hardship. A financial councillor can negotiate with creditors and assist with problems related to credit and debt matters, utility disconnections, mortgages and bankruptcy. The financial councillor can help a service user regain control of their finances by providing information, options and referrals.
Family Services (5 days a week)
Workers provide assessment, casework and case management services to assist families requesting support or referral by agencies. Services are provided at the Ararat office or in the family's home. Parenting and other groups are held regularly. Family services works with families with children up to the age of 18 years.
Family Services Referrals
Referrals to Family Services in Ararat are made via Child FIRST (Child and Family Information, Referral and Support Team). Child FIRST provides a single access point to family services across all surrounding local government areas. Mentoring
CAFS Ararat provides a mentoring program to support vulnerable children and families, especially those who are isolated and lack support. All mentors are trained and supervised volunteers.
Other services
CAFS Ararat office refers to a range of programs and services for people living in the Ararat area. The office is co-located with PINARC/Interchange (respite care for families of children with a disability).
