CAFS Hepburn is situated within the Daylesford Community Health Centre, co-located with Hepburn Community Health Services. The following services are provided:
Family Services Program (5 days a week)
The Family Services Program offers home-based support to families with children aged 0 - 18 years. Family workers can provide assessment, practical assistance, parenting education, counselling and case management. The program is available throughout the Hepburn Shire. Referrals are made by telephoning the Child First services on 1300783341. There is also a mentoring program linking trained volunteers with families for friendship and support. New volunteers are welcome. Those interested should telephone the co-ordinator of CAFS Hepburn.
Supported Accommodation and Assistance Program (SAAP) (5 days a week)
This program offers support for young people, families, singles and couples who find themselves in insecure, unsafe or inadequate housing, are homeless or are in a housing related crisis.
Reconnect Program (2 days a week)
This is a service for 12 to 18 year olds and their families. It is a preventative/early intervention program aimed at improving relationships, particularly where there is a risk of the young person leaving home prematurely without the support of their families. The program also assists families where young people have already left home under these circumstances.
Financial Counselling ( 1 day a week)
Financial Counselling can:
• Help to negotiate payments with creditors
• Explain what can be done when bills, fines and debts can't be paid
• Provide Information about rules and laws relating to bills and debts
• Assess your financial situation
• Provide information on bankruptcy
Men and Family Relationships (1 day a week)
The Men and Family Relationships Service aims to help men and their families to develop and maintain positive family relationships. Counselling is offered on relationships, parenting, separation and divorce, grief and loss. CAFS Hepburn also runs groups such as ‘New Dads' and ‘Dads and Kids' in schools. These services are available for men who are over 18 years old and live in the Hepburn Shire.
Family Counselling Drug and Alcohol Program (1 day a week)
Family members may need assistance and support when a member of the family develops a drug or alcohol problem. This program offers information, support, individual or family counselling and referral to other services.
Centrelink Agency
Centrelink Agency
CAFS Hepburn operates a Centrelink Agency which enables Centrelink forms to be lodged and faxed to the Ballarat Centrelink office and original documentation to be sighted and verified. Information about Centrelink benefits is available and there is access to a telephone and computer for Centrelink business.
Visiting Services
A number of visiting services are hosted by CAFS Hepburn including Ballarat Centre Against Sexual Assault, Consumer Affairs Victoria, WRISC (support for women and children who have experienced family violence) and CentreBrace Employment Service.
