Family Services
Workers provide assessment, casework, case management, in-home support and counselling services to assist families referred by professionals or from the community. Services are provided at our office or in the family's home. Parenting and other groups are held regularly. Family services works with children up to the age of 18 years.
Families First
Families First works with families and children in the following situations where:
- Children are assessed by Child Protection Services as being at high risk of requiring placement out of their home
- Chilodren in out-of-home placements are to be reunited with their parents.
Families First is available for extended hours to ensure the safety of children involved. This intensive involvement is for a period of 6-8 weeks. Referrals are only received via Child Protection.
Ballarat Children's Contact Service (BCCS)
The Children's Contact Service provides a safe, nurturing environment for children to maintain contact with a parent who is no longer living with them. The purpose-built, safe and family-friendly centre operates on weekends. Our main focus is on the wellbeing of children who use the service during contact visits and/or changeover times. Referrals vis the BCCS Co-ordinator.
