- Educational Group Workshops
- Counselling and Support
Workshops aim to:
- Assist parents to understand the effects of ongoing parental conflict on their children
- Understand their children's needs, following separation
- Help separated parents to manage parenting arrangements in a child focused manner
- Improve communication skills in order to change the ongoing cycle of conflict in their relationship
- Assisting parents to support their child and/or children's relationship with the other parent
The Post Separation Cooperative Parenting Program assists separated parents where conflict in the parental relationship is interfering with the task of parenting in a child focused way. The program is aimed at both parents individually and is helpful even if only one parent attends. Our program is located in Ballarat but covers the following regional areas; Ararat, Pyrenees, Moorabool and Hepburn.
All participants are required to attend an individual assessment prior to participating in the group program.
The three hour program will be delivered at various times including Saturdays and week nights and there is a charge of $10 payable on the day.
Referrals are open to individuals that are experiencing family separation or ongoing issues regarding their children since separation, and they can contact us directly for further information.
Participants will receive a letter at the conclusion of the program confirming their attendance if they have been referred by the court or other legal service providers. Staff will contact participants following their attendance at the group session to offer support and assist with future enquiries or referrals for the family if required.
The programs will be conducted by Child and Family Services Staff Ballarat.
Please note that it is not appropriate to bring children to the assessment session or the group program as we are unable provide childcare.
The Post Separation Cooperative Parenting Program is funded by the Federal Government. It is conducted in partnership with Relationships Australia and Centacare Ballarat.
