Wozzles Wearhouse

Wozzles Wearhouse quickly expanded after the success of its first store in Grenville Street which opened in May 1991. Today, Wozzles Wearhouse has three retail outlets across Ballarat which are solely operated by loyal volunteers from the community.

A small team of staff at the Operations Centre process the donations Wozzles Wearhouse receives through the iconic green bins. The pre-love clothing and goods are then distributed to the retail outlets and sold to the community at affordable prices.

Wozzles Wearhouse has generated more than $6 million in sales of pre-loved clothing and goods. CAFS utilises surplus funds to assist many children and families in need. So when you donate or shop at Wozzles Wearhouse, your money is contributing to helping others within your community.

Wozzles delivered record sales of $514k in 2011. Our army of volunteers, now exceeding 50, continue to be the backbone of our retail outlets with 2011 delivering an 8.5% increase in sales revenue on the previous year. Our volunteers are vital to the continuing support that allows funds to be directed to CAFS.

Improvements at the operations centre continue with the fit-out of air-conditioning to the sorting area and the introduction of the new recycling process. The new process has delivered landfill savings of 57% and has redirected clothing that was previously unsuitable for processing to make needy third world communities. An added benefit is the increase in surplus funds provided to CAFS, amounting to $127k in the current year. These funds provide much needed assistance to the broad delivery of programs across CAFS service areas while Wozzles continues to offer recycled affordable clothing to the community.

Safety improvements have been installed at the Grenville St outlet with the recent commissioning of a duress alarm system. A similar system is programmed to be installed at the Howitt St outlet latter this year. Capital funds have been allocated for the installation of air-conditioning at the Howitt St outlet prior to the commencement of the summer season.
