Where staff cannot fulfil their normal duties whilst working from home due to having children at home, there are a number of options available:

  1. Working from home hours combined with the taking leave (paid or unpaid) for the remaining hours;
  2. Varying work hours, e.g. working a couple of hours before they wake and/or working at night after the children have gone to bed;
  3. Combination of working in the office and from home, i.e. if you have someone else in the house who can stay with the children for a few hours whilst you come in to work, then work some from home, whether it be in “normal” work hours or varied as above.
