About The Orange Door

The Victorian Government has committed to implementing all 227 recommendations of the Royal Commission into Family Violence and to delivering on the vision described in Roadmap for Reform: Strong families, Safe children. A key recommendation of the Royal Commission and the Roadmap for Reform was to establish a network of Support and Safety Hubs (The Orange Door). The Orange Door will deliver a fundamental change to the way we work with women, children and families, and men. The Orange Door will bring together different workforces and practices to create an integrated Orange Door team and a consolidated intake point in each of The Orange Door areas to create a new way of support.

The Orange Door Team will include a mix of staff employed by local private Community Service Organisations (CSO’s) for the Central Highlands region together with Family Safety Victoria and DHHS. These organisations include Cafs, Berry Street and Ballarat & District Aboriginal Cooperative (BADAC) working collaboratively to provide and deliver services for The Orange Door across the breadth of the Central Highlands region.

About Cafs

Cafs is proud to be an inclusive and equal opportunity organisation. We embrace it, value it, celebrate it and support it for the benefit of our employees, our volunteers, our service users and our community. We welcome applications from a range of people including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, People with disabilities, LGBTIQ+ people and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Cafs will be responsible for providing Team Leaders and Practitioners within the Central Highlands Orange Door Program. These teams will be responsible for intake and assessment in regards to Child Wellbeing and Perpetrator Family Violence services. These positions will work in collaboration with the Hub Manager, Practice Leaders (Integrated Practice Leader, Advanced Family Violence Practice Leader and Aboriginal Practice Leader) as well as Senior Child Protection Practitioners and other Team Leaders to deliver high quality, safe and effective service responses to Victorians seeking support and services through The Orange Door. The positions will be an integral part of building the capability of The Orange Door service hub to deliver integrated functions and programs responding to family violence, child and family vulnerability and functioning, and perpetrator interventions.
