Be our volunteer

Volunteering with Cafs is a meaningful way to contribute to the wellbeing of those in our community.

Whether you’re helping with special projects, supporting our Thread Together program or simply lending a hand where it's needed most, your involvement makes a lasting difference.

Cafs Community Advisory Committee

Being part of the Community Advisory Committee is a meaningful way to support the Central Highlands region.

This group of dedicated locals meets in person every three months to share insights, provide feedback and help shape Cafs’ work across the community. Voluntary positions are offered for an initial 12-month term.

There’s no need to have accessed our Cafs services in the past. All you need is a genuine commitment to making a difference for vulnerable children and families. Your voice can help guide positive change where it matters most.

Thread Together

We are always seeking volunteers to become part of our fantastic partnership with Thread Together.

They offer new clothes to people in need, helping them feel more confident and empowered, whether they are starting a new job or fleeing family or domestic violence.

Our volunteers tell us how amazing it is to see firsthand the transformation of people’s confidence and sense of dignity once they’ve had a Thread Together appointment. Our clients have let us know how their lives have improved as a result, whether through job offers, rental application success and more.

Corporate volunteering with Cafs

Corporate volunteering is a meaningful way for businesses to give back to the communities they’re part of.

Through Cafs’ Corporate Volunteering Program, organisations can contribute time, skills, and energy to support vulnerable children and families across the Central Highlands.

From lending a hand at the Thread Together Hub to supporting grassroots initiatives, every act of service helps strengthen the fabric of our community.

A key part of this program is our Specialist Skills Bank, a unique opportunity for professionals to offer their expertise in areas like finance, IT, legal services, hospitality or therapeutic wellness. These contributions go beyond traditional volunteering, helping to build capacity and create long-term impact for the people we support.

These partnerships reflect a shared commitment to social responsibility and community wellbeing. By stepping outside the workplace and into the heart of the community, corporate volunteers help create lasting, positive change.

Together, we’re building stronger connections and a stronger future for our community.

Foster Care

At Cafs, we believe every child deserves a safe, nurturing home – somewhere they feel seen, heard and valued. Foster care provides that sanctuary, offering children and young people stability when their own home is no longer safe.
